Fantasy writing model selection help?

I noticed your 200+ models for writing back in 2024,2025 collection.. but what about anything in 2026 that produces vivid characters and nothing like "tasted like stardust" etc... would this 27b model work best or would the 2025 models you worked on for writing be best starting point? I spent like 30 minutes trying to go through all your models... man you have done so much for the community, thank you, but it's really tough to decide with so many variations!

Hey;

For newest; try specifically GEMMA 4 tunes [better default prose, training improves this].
You want the 19B, 26B and 31B models here.

The "e" series are also strong too, but do not have the mental landscape the larger ones do.

For "old school" see "DARKEST UNIVERSE" and "OBLIVION" ; these are expanded Mistral Nemo models, with the latter with GLM reasoning.
Oblivion is a very different model.

Qwens are generally more difficult to tune in terms of prose ; but you can still get strong performance out of them using a system prompt to force them to use "your prose" so to speak.

Exception: 40B versions.
These versions excel in prose / brainstorming specifically, whereas the 27B (Fable Fusion 711) has more in depth planning/execution.

what about nightmedia/Qwen3.6-27B-Architect-Polaris2-Fable-B-F451 in comparison to the "27b fable fusion 711" you have? Can you help me understand the (probably) subtle differences between DavidAU/Qwen3.6-27B-Fable-Fusion-711-Uncensored-Heretic-NM-DAU-NEO-MAX-MTP-GGUF ? (aside from the mlx/gguf difference which is OK, I was able to run mlx)

@kylebamboo
Exact same model , we just have the source on two different repos.
There was some confusion on this; so I uploaded and aligned naming to address this.

RE: MLX/NEO.
Neo imatrix (dataset) lightly improves performance especially in long context.
